72-003 USMC F-4B/J Phantoms in SE Asia Pt 1 


This decal sheet provides markings for five Phantoms flown by US Marine Corps fighter attack squadrons based in Viet Nam 1967–1972. It is the product of considerable research, including inputs from the aircrew members themselves, and thus differs from some of what has been published in the popular press. Most USMC air operations in SE Asia were in direct support of the "Mud Marines." Although these Marine Phantom crews bagged no MiGs, they flew thousands of missions which called for the highest levels of dedication, skill, and courage, and many paid the ultimate price in support of their comrades on the  ground.
